A Railroad Startup?
Blue Chip Tradition, Tech Sector Excitement
The Boston Surface Railroad Company was founded in 2012 to provide metropolitan New England with a privately owned and operated rail service along underserved, high-traffic commuter routes that lack a convenient and affordable alternative to travel by car or bus.
Having completed all level 1 engineering, environmental impact statements and federally mandated safety planning for the first market segment construction is underway between Worcester, MA and Providence, RI.
Service is slated to commence in late 2020 using reconditioned equipment that will carry an estimated 360,000 annual passengers by its fifth year of operation (three percent of the total
commuter population) growing to eight percent—or nearly one million annual riders—within seven years.
Typically Government run commuter railroads would require an additional 6-7 years for this level of progress with expenditures 2-3 times that of BSRC to date.
Investment in BSRC offers a unique opportunity for accredited investors interested in long and medium term high yield returns with potentially tax-deferred or tax-exempt status.
